Batman: The Telltale Series is off to a good start with its first episode, “Realm of Shadows”, on PC, Mac, consoles, Android and iOS , but there are some things that the developer needs to fix. A great number of players who have the game on Steam have reported performance issues that affect the PC version. Fortunately, Telltale is well aware of the issues, and has released a statement explaining the possible reason behind the problems along with a patch that brings a number of fixes.
After having a face-to-face with Gotham’s most feared villains in the stunning finale to the critically acclaimed Arkham series, Batman is back for some more action. Telltale launched the first part of its episodic Batman adventure earlier this week to positive reviews from both players and critics, but a considerable number of Steam users have complained about the technical issues that plague the PC version, making it almost unplayable.
In a post on the Telltale Games website, the studio said investigations indicate that the main cause behind the performance issues with the game is the use of integrated graphics cards rather than dedicated. To address the issues, Telltale games released a new patch for the game on PC. The developer has also advised players to make sure their graphics drivers are up to date before running the game.
“We are aware that some users have experienced performance issues with BATMAN – The Telltale Series on Steam when playing on PC. Investigations indicate that many of these issues appear to have been due to running the game on integrated graphics cards rather than dedicated, or were the result of out of date drivers.”
“Special thanks to those in the community who have already helped others resolve these issues before a patch could go live.”
The new patch:
- Automatically defaults the game to run on dedicated graphics card
- Adds graphics settings to enable selection of Higher Performance Textures or Higher Quality Textures (please select Higher Performance if performance is an issue)
A support update for PC & Steam users of 'BATMAN – The Telltale Series' has been applied. More details here: https://t.co/2qzRxZDBdS
